RESOURCE MOBILIZATION OFFICER

OFFICE OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

 

JOB SUMMARY

Develops and designs fund raising plan and program; Implements & manages activities related to the planning, execution, control and analysis of fund raising and selected network-wide and external public relations programs; Coordinates with other units and governing body for all fund raising programs including public relations activities designed to support fund raising.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES

 

Education :
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Management, Communication, Social Science, or related fields
 Experience :
At least 4 years related experience in fund raising, marketing, project management and general development, non-profit work

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A.    Donor Research & Prospecting

1.       Researches on potential individuals, corporations, foundations and international donors identified by board members, staff and volunteers by virtue of their gift history to similar organizations or activities

2.       Creates and maintains appropriate record-keeping system(s) for prospecting and tracking donor participation, identification and cultivation of prospects, and volunteer involvement in programs

3.       Keeps up to date on current fund raising and public relations programs, practices and procedures being used in the non-profit sector and informs the board, volunteers and other leaders of matters that would benefit and interest them in their work of behalf of the organization

4.       Acts as the spokesperson and liaison of the Foundation to other fund raising committees or task forces  

B. Fund Raising Plan Development & Administration

1.       Analyzes the need and opportunity for public relations activities, fund raising programs and planning for future activities in coordination with volunteers, staffs, committees, Board and consultants 

2.       Conceptualizes projects and programs that can be promoted for funding to prospective donors, in coordination with FSCS-PM and other relevant staff

3.       Formulates and recommends strategies and plans of action for all approved fund raising and community relations programs, including budgets that support their implementation. 

4.       Prepares or initiates preparation of all contents and materials needed for approved fund raising and public relations programs, including funding proposals to donors and prospects, gift recognition and acknowledgement materials, appeal letters, etc., in coordination with other units and appropriate committees 

5.       Manages the implementation of most of the external relations programs, including serving as coordinator with outside consultants or contract services and volunteers in the creation and implementation of specific projects related to fund raising

6.       Monitors and tracks development and progress of fund raising work initiated with specific donors

7.       Prepares periodic assessment report on fund raising accomplishments/performance for submission to AED/ED and reporting to the Board  

C. General Coordination

1.       Provides administrative support to the Foundation in all of its fund raising activities

2.       Works with staff and members to ensure that all fund raising and communications programs are consistent with the overall mission and the value or concepts of each program and service.

3.       Supports relevant Committee (Finance & Investment Committee), Board, General Membership meetings and other institutional events of the Foundation

4.       Attends regular staff, unit, and relevant committee meetings, planning and evaluation activities, and other institutional activities.

5.       Represents FSSI in various meetings, caucuses and other sectoral fora and conferences upon the authority granted by the AED
